Crich Tramway Village is a family friendly environment, we have recently signed up as a supporter of the Kids in Museums Manifesto. Below are some hints and tips to make your visit more fulfilling and enjoyable.

As part of our commitment to welcoming families we offer a flexible family ticket which can be used for 2 adults or senior citizens and 2 or 3 children offering a saving of up to £8!!
What’s more, once you have paid to come in, your ticket is valid for a further 12 months (apart from our two 1940s events and Starlight Halloween) we believe that this offers fantastic value for money for families looking for things to do in Derbyshire.

Facilities
Rita's Tearooms offers a variety of children’s meals and the Red Lion serves meals and snacks during the school holidays and busy event days. There are highchairs available and baby changing facilities can be found in the Red Lion and Assembly Room toilets. We also have two large picnic areas, one on the outdoor play area and one situated along the Woodland Walk offering amazing views over the Derwent Valley.
We are an accessible Museum with smooth pathways through the granite setts, making the Museum suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There are also lifts or ramps to all visitor facilities. You can even bring your dog with you provided that they are kept on a lead at all times.

Things To Do
Children can let off steam in the Discovery Depot – a huge indoor play area with a soft ‘tram’ climbing frame and ball pit and separate soft play area suitable for toddlers. Plenty of chairs are available for parents to have a break and lots of room for pushchairs. There is also an outdoor play area for older children.
Why not borrow one of our brilliant backpacks to get the most out of your visit They are full of activities to encourage you to explore the Woodland Walk with it’s fascinating Sculpture Trail as well as the Museum’s exhibitions. They are suitable for 3 – 8 year olds and are available from reception.
We also hold a variety of fun workshops during the school holidays where children can make a whole host of items to take away with them from their own books and bags to recycled art.
Never be stuck for things to do in Derbyshire.

Dogs Welcome
Don't forget that we gladly welcome four legged family members and we have recently been recommended as a dog friendly venue by the Dogs Trust. We are one of the few museums to welcome dogs free of charge and as our car park gets the sun all day we would much rather you brought your dog in with you.
